Congratulations to Jack Reed, our new stop loss regional group manager. Jack joined Symetra in 2019 as a regional group associate under the stop loss representative training program. Now, he has been promoted to regional group manager and serves the greater Los Angeles, Idaho and Nevada markets.
“The stop loss rep training program prepared Jack for all aspects of our stop loss business, and he has already contributed to our net growth as a business,” says Sean Cooley, regional vice president of stop loss sales for the West/Central regions. “Jack exemplifies the best of Symetra because he is eager to learn and committed to his craft. He approaches each day with a growth mindset—to be better today than he was yesterday.”
Through the training program, Jack spent a year and a half preparing for his new position. “My mentors walked me through correspondences from brokers so that I could understand their thought process and how best to respond,” he says. “I learned a lot from the sales and underwriting sides of the business, and the regional group managers who trained me were always available to help me grow my knowledge.”

I’m a fan of all Chicago sports—Bears, Cubs, Bulls and Blackhawks. I’m also a big Miami Redhawks fan!
Any pets?
Yes, I have a dog named Sam!
Favorite pastime?
Playing soccer, hanging out at the beach, and watching sports with friends! I am also training for a marathon in May.
How would your friends and/or family describe you?
As someone who always like to stay busy, whether that’s sports, work, or planning a trip with family and friends.
